| Have a listen to some of the sounds that are all around us here in Thailand. ... a concert of frogs, the sound of sitting on the deck as the moon rises or falls... Recorded using our H2Zoom at 24bit/44hz, or using our Audio Technica 825 Stereo Field microphone, on Koh Phangan, Surat Thani (province), Thailand. |

NOTE: this track is a bit loud and not eq'ed / i have processed a new eq'ed less loud version but have passed my monthly upload limit on soundcloud.. so i can't swap it out 'til the end of the month..damn!
You're laying in your hammock listening to the waves roll in, the little chirping critters. A soft warm breeze is keeping you cool. You're feeling pretty damn relaxed. Recorded with H2Zoom 24bit / 44Hz.

Exactly what you'd hear if you we're hanging in our hammock on the deck of our Thai jungle house.

Frogs, 360 degrees. One of the many surprises that awaited us after our first serious rain storm in the thai jungle was a frog concert. Picture yourself in the center of a pitch black damp jungle. You're wearing headphones attached to a hand-held recording unit, and you can hear many many things that you cannot see. The kind of dark where your breath sounds loud. I only lasted about 20 minutes until I was sure I could hear a cobra coming my way..

Warning: these guys are loud and alarm like. The cicadas are an everyday to the second occurrence, as if they have little cicada synchronized watches. 6:34pm is their synchronized start time and they sound off for around 10 minutes.. I've shortened this sample so that just as you experience their full velocity they're starting to taper off.
